Authenticity & counterfeits

Last updated: March 02, 2026

Every INKUTTU piece is designed in Sydney and manufactured by partners we choose ourselves. If you're concerned that a product you've seen, bought or been offered isn't genuine, this page tells you how to check and how to report it.

Where to buy genuine INKUTTU

Genuine INKUTTU products are sold only through the following channels:

  • Our website: inkuttu.com
  • Authorised retail partners listed on our contact page (when applicable)
  • Authorised pop-up events publicised through our official social channels

If a product claims to be INKUTTU but is being sold through another channel — including marketplaces, resellers we haven't authorised, or third-party social media accounts — we can't guarantee its authenticity.

How to spot a counterfeit

Counterfeits vary, but most can be spotted by checking:

  • Price. Prices significantly below our standard range, especially on "sale" sites we don't operate, are a strong indicator.
  • Spelling and branding. Look at logo proportions, capitalisation (we use INKUTTU, all-caps) and tag layouts. Counterfeits often have subtle errors.
  • Fabric weight and finish. Our pieces are heavyweight by design. A noticeably thinner or lighter feel is a flag.
  • Stitching and hardware. Inconsistent stitching, plastic hardware where ours is metal, or missing tonal details.
  • Care label. Genuine INKUTTU pieces have a sewn care label with composition, country of origin, and care instructions.
  • Order confirmation. If you bought online, you should have an order confirmation email from @inkuttu.com.

If you're unsure, send us photos and we'll tell you. Email authenticity@inkuttu.com.

Report a counterfeit or unauthorised seller

If you've come across a counterfeit listing, an unauthorised seller, or someone using INKUTTU branding without permission — please tell us. We follow up every report.

Email authenticity@inkuttu.com with as much detail as you can:

  • Where you saw it (URL, screenshot, social handle)
  • Approximate price being asked
  • Anything that made you suspicious
  • Any direct messages you received (if relevant)

We treat all reports confidentially. If you bought a product you now believe is counterfeit, also email us — we may be able to help with a refund through the platform you used.
